Lorna has a Masters Degree with distinction in Intelligent Systems and Robotics from De Montfort University and a 1st Class Bachelors Degree in Electronic Systems Engineering from the University of Portsmouth. Both degrees required the study of multiple courses in Maths and Physics.
Her passion for Maths and Physics led her into the above fields of scientific study and she has been working as a STEM tutor for the last four years to share not only her scientific knowledge but also her own methods for studying STEM subjects. These study techniques focus on embedding learning by linking theory to practical applications that are of personal interest to the student. A further focus is understanding how to decode exam questions to better identify what is being asked.
As a keen learner herself, outside of teaching Lorna is focused on continuing her professional development through her membership of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). She also supports start-up businesses with computational intelligence consultation and enjoys quality family time with her husband and daughter.
