Maya is a fully qualified Science teacher and she holds a Masters Degree of Teaching in Secondary Biology and Chemistry Education from the University of Toronto in Canada.
She began her Science journey studying a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Waterloo before going on to study a Master’s Degree in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto.
Maya has been teaching for 2 years now across Grades 6-12 in Biology and Chemistry and she currently works at the Canadian International School in District 7 of HCMC. Beyond the classroom, Maya has a strong interest in supporting the social-emotional wellbeing of youth, and has volunteered with Canadian organizations that support youth mental health, such as the Kids Help Phone and Child Development Institute. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Saigon and all the food it has to offer.
