Sophie holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the Institute of Education, University College London, and a BA (Hons) in English and History from the University of York. Since graduating, Sophie has been teaching History and English at Langley Park School for Girls in South London for the last year.
Her teaching approach is student-centred. She focuses on adapting her methods to meet the diverse needs of her students, including high-attaining, SEND, and EAL learners. She excels in creating engaging lesson plans and delivering content that resonates with her students, fostering a love for learning and critical thinking.
Sophie has experience supporting students in English alongside, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. She’s skilled in providing one-on-one assistance and addressing challenging behaviours effectively. She is committed to professional development and often attends additional training courses to expand her skills and knowledge to benefit the students she supports.
In her spare time, Sophie enjoys volunteering and has previously taught in Zanzibar and participated in the Herstory Community Project at York Museum Trust.
